I like the contrasted image of the cat in the road. Also, I've heard for many years that shoes hanging o'er a power line is indicative of a nearby crack dealer, though it is yet to be confirmed. You've heard this before?
that's my favorite, too! i had not heard about the shoes on the power line...but we were downtown so you never know...
